Without a doubt, peaches are my favorite fruit. I love hairy and red peaches, with juicy pulp to take in bites.
In summer, one of the typical desserts in my family are peaches in wine. I, on the other hand, prefer this version cooked and served with ice cream. A meal ending with a disarming goodness.
Baked red peaches
- Preparation time: 60 minutes
- Ingredients for 4 servings
- Difficulty: Easy recipe
- Ingredients
- 4 peaches
- 1 tablespoon of rice oil
- 1 tablespoon of maple syrup
- 1 pinch of cinnamon
- 4 tablespoons of brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons of liqueur (e.g. rum, amaretto, or marsala)
- Instructions
- Wash the peaches well, dry them, and cut them in half vertically. Remove the core.
- In a bowl, mix the oil, sugar, syrup, cinnamon, and rum.
- Place the peaches on a baking sheet and cover them with the sauce. Bake in an oven preheated at 350 °F for thirty to forty minutes.
- Serve hot with ice cream and toasted almonds
Tips to ensure the success of the dish:
- To cut the peaches in half, you need to rotate the knife around the core, then grasp both halves and use a circular motion to detach them. The core should be removed fairly easily.
- The core often breaks if the peach is very ripe. In this case, it’s better to cut the peach not vertically, but horizontally.
- Use the grill for the last five minutes of cooking to caramelize the surface of the peaches.
