I love artisanal ice cream. It’s the dessert I love the most. Even when I’m satiated, I always find space for a scoop of ice cream!
Homemade chocolate ice cream has an ancient flavor, an unmistakable light brown color, and a heavenly melt. With chopped fresh fruit and some whipped cream, it immediately becomes a terrific dessert.
Old-fashioned chocolate ice cream
- Preparation time: 60 minutes
- Ingredients for 4 servings
- Difficulty: Easy recipe
- Ingredients
- 1 ½ cup (350 ml) of fat milk
- ½ cup and 2 tablespoons (150 ml) of cream
- 4 yolks
- 5 oz (150 grams) of sugar
- 5 oz (150 grams) of dark chocolate
- 2 tablespoons (20 grams) of bitter cocoa
- Instructions
- Mix the egg yolks with the sugar and cocoa.
- Add the hot cream and milk, then cook up to a temperature of 180°F. Add the finely chopped chocolate and mix.
- Leave the mixture to cool down.
- Put the mixture in the ice cream maker and operate the ice cream maker for about thirty-five minutes.
- Keep in the refrigerator for 2 hours before serving.
Tips to ensure the success of the dish:
- Use an excellent quality dark chocolate.
- I usually prepare the mixture first and leave it in the refrigerator for at least 12 hours. The ice cream will be tastier, with more intense and better blended flavors.
- Before putting the cream in the ice cream maker, I use the immersion mixer to make the mixture velvety.
