I’m always looking for quick-to-prepare cookie recipe with just a few ingredients. These braids are crumbly biscuits that can be kept for days in a tin box and make for a great cheer up breakfast for those who are sad about returning from summer holidays.
Ricotta braids cookies
- Preparation time: 40 minutes
- Ingredients for about 40 cookies
- Difficulty: Easy recipe
- Ingredients
- 14 oz (400 grams) of ricotta cheese
- 1 lb. 2 oz (500 grams) of all-purpose flour
- 9 oz (250 grams) of sugar
- 1 tablespoon of baking powder
- Orange zest to taste
- Granulated sugar to taste
- Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F.
- In a bowl, mix the ricotta with the sugar and the orange zest. Add the sifted flour with the baking powder and mix the ingredients until you get a smooth, uniform dough. It should be very soft and slightly sticky.
- Lightly grease your hands with butter, then take pieces of the batter and form logs with each piece.
- Shape each log into a simple braid. Place the braids in the baking pan covered with parchment paper.
- Sprinkle the biscuits with granulated sugar.
- Cook for about twenty to twenty-five minutes.
Tips to ensure the success of the dish:
- You can use grated orange zest, cinnamon powder, or vanilla beans.
- The cookies should be placed spaced apart because they will expand during cooking.
- Cooking times depend on your oven.
