American cakes are definitely quick to make. This one is super quick and super yummy. You eat a slice for breakfast and you are full until lunchtime. I really like it especially because it has few ingredients, because the banana flavor is very present and because it allows me to use ripe bananas without wasting them.

Banana cake, oat flakes and milk chocolate

  • Preparation time: 60 minutes
  • Ingredients for a plum cake mold
  • Difficulty: Easy recipe

  • Ingredients
  • 2 eggs
  • 90 g of maple syrup
  • 35 g of honey
  • 3 ripe bananas
  • 70 ml of seed oil
  • 60 gr of oat flakes
  • 190 gr of all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon of baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 180 gr of milk chocolate
  • Butter and flour to taste.
  1. Instructions
  2. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  3. In a bowl mash the bananas with a fork until pureed.
  4. In another bowl, whisk the eggs with the syrup and honey. Add the bananas, oil, and vanilla extract.
  5. Sift the flour with the baking powder and combine them with the mixture along with the oat flakes and coarsely chopped chocolate.
  6. Pour the mixture into the buttered and floured plum cake mold.
  7. Bake for about forty-five minutes.

Tips to ensure the success of the dish:

  • The eggs must be at room temperature. Therefore, take them out of the refrigerator at least two hours before making the cake.
  • The timing of baking is approximate because every oven bakes differently. It would always be wise to do the toothpick test to see if the cake is ready. If the toothpick, inserted inside the cake to its core, comes out moist but dry then the cake is ready.
