Fried desserts

Fried desserts are common throughout central and southern Italy. Typical of some occasions such as Carnival or Father’s Day they are of indescribable pleasure. Unfortunately, they have the inconvenience of leaving an unpleasant smell of fat at home.

Even the ancient Romans worshiped fried desserts. At the time, they consumed frictilia, similar to our “frappe,” or globus, similar to our “castagnole,” or luncunculus similar to our current cream puffs. The ancient Romans invented all!
